PROFILE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E./B.Tech)
- Preferably a prior experience in shipyard, marine, offshore, or heavy industrial projects preferred
- Experience in coordinating day-to-day site operations, vessel movements, berth activities, and project execution
- Familiarity with Classification Society regulations, IMO standards, and maritime safety protocols will be an added advantage
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic shipyard environment
- Ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams and ensure smooth execution of site activities within timelines and operational requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Site Operations & Coordination
- Oversee and manage day-to-day operations at the Ghogha Shipyard site
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the site team and project management/head office
- Coordinate with sub-contractors, vendors, and third-party service providers for timely delivery of work
2. Project Planning & Monitoring
- Assist in the preparation and review of project schedules, Gantt charts, and work plans
- Track milestones and ensure deliverables are met within agreed timelines and budgets
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for project management review
- Identify bottlenecks in project execution and proactively escalate issues to relevant stakeholders
3. Mechanical & Technical Oversight
- Apply mechanical engineering knowledge to review technical drawings, shop fabrication, and equipment erection activities
- Coordinate inspection and testing of mechanical systems including piping, pumps, machinery, and structural components
- Liaise with engineering teams for resolution of technical queries and site-level design issues
- Monitor quality of fabrication, welding, and installation work in line with applicable codes and standards
- Oversee commissioning activities and pre-delivery trials for vessels or marine structures
4. Marine & Shipyard Operations
- Coordinate dry-docking, undocking, and vessel movement activities within the shipyard
- Liaise with port authorities, Classification Society surveyors, and client representatives stationed at the site
- Support ship repair, conversion, or newbuild activities in line with marine engineering standards
- Monitor hull, machinery, and outfitting works to ensure compliance with Classification Society requirements
5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies, shipyard safety regulations, and statutory requirements
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, toolbox talks, and risk assessments
- Enforce the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) across all site personnel
- Coordinate with the HSE team for implementation of safe work permits and method statements
6. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive site documentation including inspection reports, test certificates, and work completion records
- Manage and track Material Inspection Reports (MIR), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), and punch lists
- Ensure timely submission of progress reports, material requisitions, and vendor invoices to the project office
- Coordinate with procurement team for follow-up on pending materials and equipment deliveries
7. Stakeholder Communication & Liaison
- Act as the liaison between the client, classification surveyors, and internal project teams on site
- Attend site review meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings as required
- Communicate effectively across diverse teams including engineers, supervisors, and skilled tradespeople
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
