EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
- B.Sc./Diploma in Cardiac Care Technology / Cardiovascular Technology or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Additional certification/training in Echocardiography and TMT is desirable.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a hospital/cardiology setup.
- Experience in performing 2D Echo, M-Mode, Doppler, Color Doppler and TMT independently.
- Experience in Pediatric Echo will be an added advantage.
- Should have experience working with cardiologists and handling cardiac diagnostic equipment.
CLINICAL SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Perform 2D, M-Mode and Doppler echocardiography as instructed by the Cardiologist.
- Perform Color Doppler and assist in specialized echocardiographic procedures.
- Conduct TMT according to prescribed protocol.
- Recognize abnormal findings requiring immediate attention and inform the Cardiologist promptly.
- Monitor patients before, during and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate technical records and reports.
- Operate, clean and maintain ECHO and TMT equipment appropriately.
- Ensure proper patient identification and procedure verification.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform ECHO and TMT procedures safely and efficiently as per the Cardiologist's instructions.
- Prepare patients and explain the procedure appropriately before examination.
- Obtain and maintain technically adequate ECHO images and TMT recordings.
- Assist Cardiologists during routine and specialized cardiac investigations.
- Monitor patient condition and vital signs during TMT and other procedures.
- Immediately report significant abnormalities or patient deterioration to the Cardiologist.
- Ensure proper documentation of investigations and maintain patient records.
- Maintain cleanliness, disinfection and infection-control practices in the procedure area.
- Check the operational status of ECHO, TMT and related equipment before use.
- Report equipment malfunction and coordinate with Biomedical Engineering for corrective action.
- Maintain adequate availability of consumables and inform the concerned person regarding shortages.
- Follow hospital policies, SOPs, NABH standards and patient-safety practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Participate in departmental training, quality improvement activities and audits.
- Support emergency management during TMT and other cardiac procedures.
