Receiving In charge (Hypermarket)
Job Summary
The Receiving In charge is responsible for overseeing all inbound stock receiving activities, ensuring accurate verification of goods, proper documentation, inventory control, and coordination with vendors, warehouse teams, and store departments. The role ensures that all merchandise received meets company standards and is processed efficiently to support store operations.
Key Responsibilities Receiving Operations
- Supervise daily receiving activities for all merchandise arriving at the hypermarket.
- Verify quantities, quality, expiry dates, batch numbers, and specifications against purchase orders and invoices.
- Ensure timely unloading and proper handling of incoming goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal departments regarding deliveries.
- Monitor adherence to receiving schedules and dock utilization.
Inventory Control
- Ensure accurate Goods Receipt Note (GRN) processing in the ERP/POS system.
- Reconcile discrepancies in received stock and report shortages, excesses, or damages.
- Maintain accurate records of all inward stock movements.
- Coordinate stock transfers to warehouse and sales floor departments.
- Assist in periodic stock counts and inventory audits.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain receiving registers, invoices, delivery notes, and supplier documents.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, food safety standards, and inventory control procedures.
- Monitor FIFO (First In First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry First Out) practices.
- Ensure proper handling of damaged and returnable goods.
Team Management
- Supervise receiving assistants, loaders, and warehouse support staff.
- Allocate daily work assignments and monitor productivity.
- Train team members on receiving procedures and safety standards.
- Maintain discipline and operational efficiency within the receiving department.
Coordination
- Liaise with Buyers, Warehouse Team, Department Managers, and Finance Team regarding stock receipts and discrepancies.
- Provide timely updates on delayed deliveries and supplier issues.
- Support store operations during promotional activities and seasonal stock arrivals.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum Higher Secondary (Plus Two) with relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in Receiving, Warehouse, Inventory, or Store Operations.
- Experience in Hypermarket, Supermarket, Retail Chain, FMCG, or Distribution operations preferred.
- Hands-on experience with GRN processing, stock reconciliation, and inventory systems.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
