1. Production Support
Helpers handle the manual tasks that keep machines running. This includes:
- Loading and Unloading: Feeding raw materials (like metal sheets, fabric, or plastic) into machines and removing finished products.
- Material Handling: Moving items between workstations using pallet jacks, carts, or manual lifting to ensure operators always have what they need.
- Quality Inspection: Performing basic visual checks for defects or measuring parts to ensure they meet standards.
2. Technical Assistance
Helpers often act as "extra hands" for skilled workers like welders, machinists, or electricians:
- Holding components in place during assembly or welding.
- Handing specific tools to technicians during equipment repairs.
- Setting up or "kitting" workstations with the necessary bolts, screws, or components before a shift begins.
3. Maintenance and Safety
Maintaining a clean and safe environment is a critical part of the role:
- Cleaning: Clearing scrap metal, sawdust, or chemical spills from the floor to prevent accidents.
- Tool Care: Cleaning and organizing tools at the end of a shift.
- Waste Management: Disposing of industrial waste and recycling materials according to safety protocols.
