The Assistant Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products meet the organization's quality and food safety standards. The role involves overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities, maintaining regulatory compliance, implementing quality management systems, leading audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and other applicable food safety and quality standards.
- Supervise quality assurance and quality control activities across raw materials, in-process production, and finished products.
- Plan and conduct internal quality audits and coordinate customer, regulatory, and certification audits.
- Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, and non-conformities, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Monitor laboratory testing, product inspections, and quality documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze quality performance indicators and prepare reports for management review.
- Coordinate with Production, Procurement, R&D, and Maintenance teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Train and guide employees on quality standards, food safety practices, hygiene, and regulatory compliance.
- Review and update SOPs, specifications, quality manuals, and other controlled documents.
- Support new product development and validation from a quality and food safety perspective.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality management systems.
- Hands-on experience with HACCP, GMP, GHP, FSSAI, ISO 22000, and internal/external audits.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in quality documentation, data analysis, and MS Office applications.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in the food processing, FMCG, dairy, beverage, or packaged food industry.
- Knowledge of statistical quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies will be an advantage.
- Graduation in Food Tech, Chemistry, Biotechnology or any relevant
- 8–10 Years experience in quality department .
Salary: 60K - 80K
Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
