About the Role
We are a UK-based local digital media business looking for a Digital Content & SEO Executive to support our Birmingham platform. This is a hands-on role involving local content research, SEO, WordPress, AI-assisted content creation and social media.
We are not looking for someone who simply copies and pastes content generated by ChatGPT. We want someone who can research a topic, understand what makes it relevant to a UK audience, use AI intelligently, check information for accuracy and turn it into useful digital content. Full training on our internal processes will be provided.
What You'll Be Doing
· Research Birmingham news, events, businesses and things to do.
· Identify useful and relevant content opportunities for a UK local audience.
· Research information using reliable online sources and verify key facts.
· Use ChatGPT and other AI tools to assist with research and content creation.
· Write and edit original, reader-friendly articles.
· Carry out basic keyword research and create SEO-friendly titles, headings and content.
· Write meta titles and meta descriptions.
· Optimise articles using WordPress SEO tools.
· Add appropriate internal and external links.
· Find suitable copyright-safe images and add appropriate alt text.
· Publish and format articles correctly in WordPress.
· Add and update local events.
· Create social media posts from published website content.
· Help maintain a regular content calendar.
· Check content carefully before publication.
· Learn from basic website and social media performance data.
What We're Looking For
· Good written English.
· Basic understanding of SEO.
· Experience using ChatGPT or similar AI tools.
· Good internet research skills.
· Basic WordPress knowledge.
· Basic understanding of social media.
· Strong attention to detail.
· Ability to follow processes and instructions.
· Ability to learn independently.
· Good judgement when deciding whether information is reliable.
· A willingness to take ownership of your work.

You do not need to know everything above. We are more interested in someone with strong fundamentals, good judgement and the ability to learn quickly.
Using AI
AI will be an important part of this role. However, we expect you to use AI as a tool rather than allowing AI to do your thinking for you. You should be comfortable researching information yourself, checking facts and sources, improving AI-generated drafts and identifying when an AI response may be inaccurate.
What Success Looks Like
During your first two months, you will receive training and gradually take responsibility for the content workflow. The objective is for you to become capable of independently handling:
Research -> Content Creation -> SEO -> WordPress Publishing -> Social Distribution
Salary & Growth
Starting salary is INR 15,000 per month. There will be a performance review after two months, with the opportunity to progress to up to INR 20,000 per month based on performance, reliability, quality of work and ability to work independently.
This is intended to be a long-term role. As the business grows, strong performers may have the opportunity to take responsibility for additional areas of digital operations and progress into more senior roles, with salary increasing accordingly.
Progression is based on capability, responsibility and performance rather than length of service alone.
Working Arrangement
This is a full-time remote role based in India. Because the business serves the UK market, you must be comfortable working with UK-focused content and communicating with the team during agreed working hours.

Selection process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief online interview followed by a practical assignment based on the actual work involved in the role.

Pay: ₹9,800.71 - ₹20,000.00 per month
