Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Fixture Design Engineer with 6 to 10 years of core experience in the aerospace industry to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating custom jigs, fixtures, tooling, and holding systems used in aerospace component manufacturing, machining and inspection processes. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams to deliver high-precision, compliant tooling solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Tooling & Fixture Design: Design complex jigs, fixtures (machining), and ground support equipment (GSE) using SolidWorks.
- Aerospace Standards Compliance: Ensure all fixture designs comply with stringent aerospace quality standards, customer requirements, and safety guidelines.
- Engineering Calculations & FEA: Conduct structural analysis, stress calculations, material selection, and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure rigidity, precision, and longevity of fixtures.
- Drawing & GD&T: Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) adhering to ASME Y14.5 / GD&T standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production, process engineering, quality, and shop-floor teams to troubleshoot tooling issues, optimize manufacturing cycles, and improve ergonomic standards.
- Vendor & Procurement Support: Work with toolmakers and external suppliers for component procurement, manufacturing guidance, and first-off inspection of fixtures.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and DFMEA concepts to minimize lead times, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
Required Candidate Profile & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or Tool Design.
- Experience: 6 to 10 years of relevant design experience within an aerospace manufacturing or design environment.
- Software Tools: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks Working knowledge of CATIA V5, Mastercam.
Pay: ₹80,382.63 per month
