We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Paint Technician to join our busy workshop in Perungalathur. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of preparing, painting, and finishing vehicles to restore them to their original factory-quality appearance. The ideal candidate must have a keen eye for color matching and a passion for automotive craftsmanship.
Key Responsibilities
Surface Preparation: Sand, mask, clean, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure a smooth, defect-free base for painting.
Color Matching & Mixing: Utilize professional-grade color matching tools and mixing systems to create precise paint shades that match the vehicle’s existing finish.
Paint Application: Expertly apply primer, basecoats, and clearcoats using professional spray guns, ensuring even coverage and a flawless finish.
Quality Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of painted surfaces to identify and correct imperfections, such as runs, sags, or uneven texture.
Finishing Touches: Perform final detailing, including buffing, polishing, and waxing, to achieve a high-gloss, showroom-quality result.
Workshop Maintenance: Maintain paint booth equipment, keep tools clean and organized, and ensure the workspace adheres to all safety and environmental regulations.
Safety Compliance: Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials (paints, solvents, thinners) in line with health and safety standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience: Proven professional experience as an Automotive Painter or Paint Technician.
Technical Proficiency: Strong command of automotive painting tools, including HVLP spray guns, electric/pneumatic sanders, and paint mixing systems.
Color Vision: Excellent color perception and the ability to distinguish subtle color variations.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work; you take pride in delivering work that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, and handle equipment safely.
Education: ITI/Diploma in Automotive/Mechanical field or relevant certification is preferred.
Local Proximity: Candidates residing in or near Perungalathur or having reliable transport to the area are preferred.
