Job Description
A specialty chemicals manufacturing unit in Chhatral GIDC is looking for a Plant Supervisor with 2-3 years of hands-on plant experience. The role requires an energetic, safety-conscious supervisor who can manage daily production and support the senior team on shopfloor operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Support: Assist in planning and supervising daily batch operations. Monitor process parameters, yields, and cycle times to meet daily targets.
2. Safety & SOP Compliance: Ensure operators follow safety protocols, PPE usage, and standard operating procedures. Conduct toolbox talks and report unsafe conditions.
3. Team Coordination: Supervise 10-20 operators and helpers per shift. Guide them on process steps, housekeeping, and documentation.
4. Process Monitoring: Keep track of reactors, filtration, distillation, and utility operations. Report deviations to Manager/Engineer immediately.
5. Documentation: Maintain batch records, log sheets, shift handover notes, and production reports accurately.
6. Coordination: Work with QC, Maintenance, and Stores teams for material availability, quality clearance, and equipment readiness.
Requirements
1. Education: B.Sc Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Engineering preferred. ITI Chemical with relevant experience also considered.
2. Experience: 2-3 years hands-on experience in chemical plant operations. Exposure to Dyes, Pigments, Pharma Intermediates, Paints, or Coatings is an advantage.
3. Skills: Basic understanding of chemical processes, reactors, and filtration. Familiar with safety practices and batch documentation.
4. Attitude: Willing to learn, hands-on approach, good communication, and ability to lead workers on shopfloor.
5. Other: Must be flexible for rotational shifts including night shift. Immediate joiners and candidates from Chhatral/Kalol/Gandhinagar area preferred.
