Roles and Responsibilities of a School System Administrator
1. Network Management
- Install, configure, and maintain the school's network infrastructure.
- Monitor internet connectivity and network performance.
- Manage Wi-Fi access points and network security.
- Troubleshoot network issues affecting staff and students.
2. Server Administration
- Install and maintain servers (physical or cloud-based).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Monitor server performance and uptime.
- Perform system updates and upgrades.
3. Computer and Device Support
- Set up and configure desktops, laptops, tablets, and printers.
- Install and update operating systems and software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
- Maintain computer labs and classroom technology.
4. User Account Management
- Create and manage accounts for students, teachers, and staff.
- Reset passwords and resolve login issues.
- Manage email accounts and digital collaboration tools.
- Ensure appropriate access levels for different users.
5. Cybersecurity
- Implement antivirus and endpoint protection solutions.
- Monitor for security threats and unauthorized access.
- Apply security patches and updates regularly.
- Educate staff and students on cybersecurity best practices.
- Enforce data protection and privacy policies.
6. Data Backup and Recovery
- Schedule regular backups of important school data.
- Test backup and recovery procedures.
- Restore data when required due to accidental deletion or system failure.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans.
7. Educational Technology Support
- Support Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Maintain smart boards, projectors, and classroom technology.
- Assist teachers with educational software and digital tools.
- Support online learning platforms and virtual classrooms.
8. Software and License Management
- Install and manage licensed software.
- Track software subscriptions and renewals.
- Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
- Evaluate new software solutions for educational needs.
9. IT Asset Management
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment.
- Track warranties and service contracts.
- Plan equipment replacements and upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors for repairs and purchases.
10. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain records of IT systems and configurations.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and policies.
- Prepare reports on system performance and IT needs.
- Assist school management with technology planning.
Daily Activities
- Responding to IT support requests from teachers and students.

- Monitoring working condition of PA system in Classrooms and common area
- Maintain CCTV monitor for security purpose at school premises.
