Job Description: Staff Cook (South Indian) – Hospitality Industry
Position Title: Staff Cook – South Indian Cuisine
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook South Indian dishes such as dosa, idli, vada, sambar, chutneys, upma, rice items, and other regional specialties.
- Ensure food is prepared according to standard recipes, taste, and presentation guidelines.
- Handle food preparation activities including cutting, grinding, mixing, and marination.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and cooking areas.
- Monitor food stock levels and inform supervisors about shortages.
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Minimize food wastage and maintain portion control.
- Assist in menu planning and preparation for staff meals.
- Coordinate with kitchen team members for smooth operations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques.
- Ability to prepare meals in large quantities.
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards.
- Good time management and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a South Indian Cook in hotels, restaurants, or catering services.
- Culinary training or hospitality certification preferred.
Working Conditions
- Shift-based work including weekends and holidays.
- Hot kitchen environment with long standing hours.
Pay: ₹17,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
