Key Responsibilities:
- Install GPS tracking devices and related hardware in vehicles as per standard procedures.
- Diagnose and repair faulty or non-functional GPS units.
- Ensure proper wiring and secure placement of devices to avoid tampering or disconnections.
- Conduct field inspections for devices showing incorrect data or location anomalies.
- Replace or recharge GPS device batteries as required.
- Maintain accurate logs of installation, maintenance, and rectification activities.
- Coordinate with the operations and fleet team for vehicle availability and support.
- Ensure all installations comply with safety and quality standards.
- Perform periodic health checks on installed GPS units and report status.
- Support software team with troubleshooting data transmission or signal issues.
- Train fleet staff on basic GPS-related checks, if necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an automotive or GPS technician.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and wiring.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and telematics systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to multiple locations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to document work accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ITI/Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or a related field.
- Experience with fleet management systems or GPS platforms.
- Understanding of IoT devices and data syncing protocols is a plus.
