Role Overview:
We are seeking skilled and dedicated candidates to join our R&D team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing new plant varieties and improving existing ones through innovative breeding techniques. The Plant Breeder will be responsible for planning and executing breeding programs, conducting research, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve breeding objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement breeding strategies to achieve desired plant traits and improvements.
- Plan and coordinate sowing activities, field layouts, and other breeding-related tasks.
- Plan and execute controlled crosses to produce desired genetic combinations.
- Oversee generation advancement processes for varietal development.
- Conduct DUS characterization of all products and their parental lines
- Maintain accurate breeder records, including field books, and ensure systematic data recording and entry.
- Execute the crossing program to produce high quantities of crossed seeds for further evaluation and distribution.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate research findings and breeding progress to internal stakeholders to acheive the breeding program goals
