Shape the future of work in complex industries.
At Falkor, we help some of the world's most complex industries operate with greater clarity, confidence, and control.
Built on more than 200 years of KONGSBERG industrial heritage, our industrial intelligence platform connects people, systems, and workflows across energy, processing, power, renewables, and other heavy-asset industries.
We turn complexity into clarity and data into decisions, helping organizations improve safety, efficiency, and performance across the asset lifecycle.
As industries evolve, we're building the technology that helps people see further, decide faster, and operate with confidence.
The role
We are looking for an experienced Data & Platform Architect to design, govern, and continuously evolve the technical foundations that power KDI’s platforms. This includes working across structured, unstructured, document, and time-series data domains, while ensuring our platform services are secure, scalable, and resilient.
What you'll do
Architectural Leadership
- Define and evolve platform architecture patterns for data ingestion, processing, storage, and APIs.
- Ensure consistency and scalability across time-series, document, relational, and unstructured data systems.
- Establish governance and lifecycle standards for platform services and data pipelines.
- Drive adoption of cloud-native and API-first practices.
Hands-On & Technical Guidance
- Provide technical leadership on platform services: event streaming, messaging, data pipelines, storage, and APIs.
- Guide teams in best practices for indexing, search, caching, and high performance data access.
- Collaborate on cross-cutting concerns such as security, observability, and cost optimization.
- Ensure interoperability across platform modules, applications, and external integrations.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Partner with product managers, Application and Infrastructure Architects, and engineering teams to align platform services with business needs.
- Mentor engineers on data engineering and platform best practices.
- Support cross-product initiatives requiring shared data infrastructure.
What we're looking for
- Proven expertise in data architectures spanning relational (SQL), NoSQL/document (MongoDB, CouchDB), time-series databases (Timescale, InfluxDB, etc.), and unstructured data storage.
- Strong understanding of event-driven systems, messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Service Bus), and distributed data platforms.
- Proficiency with microservices, APIs (REST/GraphQL), and backend design.
- Experience with MEAN stack environments (Node.js, Express, MongoDB,
Angular) is desirable.
- Familiarity with DevOps and observability frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of platform governance, security, and lifecycle management.
- Excellent communication skills to influence across engineering and product
teams.
Experience
- 10+ years in software engineering with a focus on data/platform systems.
- At least 5 years in architecture or platform leadership roles.
- Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade, multi-tenant, or SaaS platforms.
- Background in time-series, event-driven, or data-heavy industrial systems is a strong plus.
