The Metal Finisher is a full-time, on-site role based in Malakpet. In this position, you will prepare, polish, and finish metal components using hand tools and power tools, ensuring surfaces are properly cleaned, smoothed, and ready for plating or final coating. Daily responsibilities include masking and unmasking parts, sanding, buffing, and inspecting components for defects, as well as applying touch-up work such as polishing, minor painting, or protective coatings as required. You will follow work orders and quality specifications, handle parts carefully to prevent damage, and maintain a clean, safe workstation. The role also involves collaborating with production and quality teams, following safety and environmental guidelines, and participating in ongoing training to learn new finishing techniques and processes. Hours are 6:00 AM to 2:45 PM, with two breaks. Overtime IS available, but NOT mandatory.
Qualifications
- Hands-on skills with power tools for grinding, sanding, buffing, and surface preparation, with a strong focus on safe operation.
- Experience with surface prep, coating application, and touch-up work.
- Willingness to participate in on-the-job training and learn new metal finishing and plating-related techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, visual inspection skills, and ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality standards.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move parts as required, and work safely in a production environment.
- Previous experience in metal finishing, polishing, auto restoration, coatings, or drywall/woodwork finishing is preferred but not required.
- Reliable attendance, effective communication, and ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
