Job Overview
Neuro Nest Occupational Therapy Centre is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and dedicated Play Therapy Assistant to join our pediatric care team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with lead therapists to implement structured play-based interventions, support sensory-motor activities, and create a safe, engaging environment for children with diverse developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist occupational therapists in carrying out individual and group play therapy sessions.
- Prepare, organize, and sanitize play equipment, therapeutic toys, and sensory materials before and after sessions.
- Actively engage children in therapeutic play to facilitate motor skills, social interaction, emotional regulation, and cognitive development.
- Observe child behaviors during sessions and assist in recording daily progress notes and attendance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment tailored to pediatric patients.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding session schedules and basic clinical instructions as directed by the lead therapist.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistance, or related fields.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children in a clinical, special school, or preschool setting is highly preferred.
- Key Attributes: Patience, high energy, strong empathy, and excellent communication skills in Tamil (English is a plus).
- Ability to physically engage in play activities (bending, kneeling, active physical movement) throughout the workday.
Work Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: Full-Time | Monday to Saturday | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Sunday Off)
- Salary: 7000 to 9000
