Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or Business Management (MBA in Operations is a major asset).
Experience: Typically 10–15+ years in FMCG or food/beverage manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role like Plant Head or Operations Director.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS), supply chain logistics, product costing, and data-driven MIS/KPI reporting.
Core Responsibilities
- Operations & Production: Drive end-to-end manufacturing operations. Maximize equipment and manpower utilization to meet yield, volume, and delivery targets.
- Quality & Food Safety Compliance: Enforce rigorous sanitation standards (GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000) and ensure seamless statutory and regulatory compliance (e.g., FSSAI or FDA audits).
- Financial & Cost Control: Own the operational budget and P&L. Monitor product costing, minimize waste, and identify cost-saving initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Spearhead operational excellence frameworks (Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM) to reduce downtime and improve overall plant efficiency.
- Team & Workforce Leadership: Direct cross-functional department heads (QA, Maintenance, Supply Chain, HR). Oversee manpower planning, hiring, training, and safety programs.
