We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end fabrication process of structural steel sections (beams, columns, trusses, etc.).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Production Planning & Execution
- Direct and coordinate the daily activities of fitters, welders, and helpers.
- Interpret Technical Drawings (GA drawings) and BOM (Bill of Materials) to plan daily fabrication sequences.
- Monitor the progress of cutting, fitting, welding, and painting stages to ensure project timelines are met.
2. Quality Assurance & Control
- Ensure all welding work meets specified standards (e.g., IS standards, AWS).
- Conduct routine inspections of fabricated sections for dimensional accuracy and structural integrity.
- Minimize rework and wastage by implementing "right-first-time" practices.
3. Resource & Workforce Management
- Manage shop-floor labor, including attendance, shift scheduling, and performance monitoring.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure raw materials (plates, sections, welding consumables) are available for uninterrupted production.
- Oversee the maintenance of machinery such as CNC cutting machines, MIG/TIG welding sets, and overhead cranes.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Enforce a strict Safety First culture; ensure all workers use appropriate PPE.
- Conduct daily "Toolbox Talks" to brief the team on safety hazards and production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop floor (5S methodology).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION & SKILLS
- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- Experience: 3–7 years in Steel Structure Fabrication. Experience in PEB (Pre-Engineered Buildings) is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading fabrication drawings; knowledge of welding symbols and NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) basics.
- Team Management: Proven ability to manage a team of 20+ skilled and unskilled workers.
