The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for the overall management of the maintenance department, legislative requirements and the organization’s standards, Health & Safety, Facility Safety, Fire and Evacuation
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees preventative maintenance program to comply with standards and regulations.
- Responsible for managing maintenance budgets.
- Responsible for managing the duties of outside trades, contractors, service personnel and external inspections.
- Supports information technology systems and equipment.
- Maintains safety and security systems.
- Adhere to established corporate policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, fire safety, and environment and infection control.
- Oversees capital projects.
- Participates in environmental services audits.
- Ensure the facility meets all regulatory standards.
- Prepare monthly reports.
- Provides all maintenance services throughout the Long-term care facility and Apartments. Able to schedule labour and supplies that are required to maintain the buildings in good repair.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership ability.
- Experience in supervision of maintenance staff, contractors and tradesmen. Must possess problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the area of Maintenance Services.
- Basic Knowledge of building systems: plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and emergency systems.
- Demonstrated strengths in preventative maintenance, budgeting, costing, quality control and loss prevention. Familiar with auditing process within the Maintenance Services.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills. (Microsoft Office)
