About the Role
The NOC Trainee supports the Network Operations Center team in monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and assisting in incident management to ensure smooth ISP operations. The role involves basic system maintenance, documentation, and collaboration with internal teams.
This position offers hands-on training and mentorship, with growth opportunities into roles like NOC Engineer or Network Engineer based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
· Network Monitoring: Use network monitoring tools and dashboards to ensure the ISP's network is operating efficiently and detect issues before they impact customers.
· Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting network problems, escalating issues as needed to senior engineers.
· Incident Management: Support the NOC team in responding to network incidents, outages, and performance degradations. Participate in incident analysis to find the root causes.
· System Maintenance: Learn to perform routine system and network maintenance, including applying software updates, rebooting servers, and optimizing performance.
· Documentation: Help maintain accurate records of network performance, incidents, resolutions, and configuration changes.
· Collaboration: Work with senior network engineers and other departments (such as customer support and field teams) to ensure smooth network operations and service delivery.
· Career Development:This role provides structured training and mentorship from experienced professionals in the ISP industry. Over time, trainees will have opportunities to move into more advanced roles, such as NOC Engineer, Network Engineer, or Field Operations Specialist, depending on performance and aptitude.
Required Skills:
· Education: A recent graduate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
· Technical Knowledge: o Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, routing, etc.). o Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols and OSI model. o Some exposure to network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls (via coursework or internships).
· Skills: o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. o Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. o Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. o Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. o Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Added Value:
· Familiarity with NOC or network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
· Basic experience in Linux or other operating systems.
· Understanding of VPNs, BGP, MPLS, and other ISP-related technologies.
· Prior internship or project work in networking or a related field.
Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
