The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and monitoring all housekeeping operations across the campus to ensure a clean, hygienic, safe, and well-maintained environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The role involves managing housekeeping personnel, maintaining cleanliness standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating with various departments for effective facility upkeep.
Key Roles and Responsibilities1. Housekeeping Operations
- Supervise day-to-day housekeeping activities across the campus.
- Ensure cleanliness of academic blocks, laboratories, administrative offices, libraries, hostels, auditoriums, seminar halls, cafeterias, restrooms, sports facilities, and common areas.
- Develop daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Allocate work assignments to housekeeping staff based on operational requirements.
- Monitor completion of assigned tasks and maintain quality standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure campus cleanliness.
2. Staff Supervision
- Supervise housekeeping staff, janitors, and outsourced housekeeping personnel.
- Prepare duty rosters and shift schedules.
- Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, discipline, and productivity.
- Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, equipment handling, hygiene, and safety practices.
- Evaluate staff performance and recommend recognition or corrective actions.
- Ensure adequate staffing during college events, examinations, admissions, and functions.
3. Quality Control
- Establish housekeeping standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular quality inspections.
- Ensure classrooms and laboratories are cleaned before the commencement of academic sessions.
- Monitor cleanliness of washrooms throughout the day.
- Address housekeeping complaints promptly.
- Implement corrective actions to improve service quality.
4. Inventory and Materials Management
- Maintain inventory of cleaning chemicals, tools, consumables, and housekeeping equipment.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate timely replenishment.
- Verify receipt and proper storage of housekeeping materials.
- Ensure economical utilization of cleaning supplies.
- Prevent wastage and misuse of materials.
5. Equipment Maintenance
- Ensure proper usage and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
- Report malfunctioning equipment for repair or replacement.
- Maintain equipment service records.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules.
6. Hygiene and Sanitation
- Ensure high standards of hygiene throughout the campus.
- Monitor disinfection of classrooms, laboratories, hostels, and public areas.
- Ensure waste bins are cleaned and emptied regularly.
- Oversee pest control activities in coordination with external agencies.
- Promote cleanliness and sanitation awareness among housekeeping staff.
7. Waste Management
- Supervise collection, segregation, and disposal of waste.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and statutory waste management guidelines.
- Coordinate disposal of recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
- Maintain cleanliness around waste collection areas.
8. Health, Safety and Compliance
- Ensure safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
- Enforce the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
- Report accidents, hazards, and unsafe conditions.
- Participate in campus safety inspections and audits.
9. Coordination
- Coordinate with academic departments for classroom readiness.
- Work with the Maintenance Department for repairs identified during inspections.
- Coordinate with hostel administration regarding hostel housekeeping.
- Support the Examination Cell, Placement Cell, and Event Management teams during college functions.
- Liaise with vendors and housekeeping contractors when applicable.
10. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain housekeeping attendance records.
- Prepare daily and monthly housekeeping reports.
- Maintain inspection registers and complaint logs.
- Record consumption of housekeeping materials.
- Submit performance reports to the Administrative Officer.
- Maintain checklists for cleaning schedules and inspections.
11. Event Support
- Ensure venues are cleaned and arranged before and after college events.
- Supervise housekeeping arrangements during conferences, workshops, seminars, cultural events, convocations, and admissions.
- Coordinate manpower deployment during special events.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Facility Management, Hospitality Management, or any relevant discipline.
- Certification in Housekeeping Management is desirable.
Experience
- 3–7 years of housekeeping or facility management experience.
- Experience in educational institutions, hospitals, hotels, or large campuses is preferred.
- Experience in supervising housekeeping teams.
Pay: From ₹30,000.00 per month
