Purpose of the Role
1. Work out Machining centre inquiries received from Marketing in the form of feasibility study, competitive time estimation, and tooled up proposal within stipulated time.
2. Work out turn key projects and tenders within stipulated time.
3. Visit customer along with Marketing to generate tooled up orders and support customer to freeze machine scope based on customer requirement.
4. Execution of customer component trials within stipulated time (need based ).
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Support the SIC in ground level implementation of business plan and strategy for Application Engineering department in alignment to the organizational strategy, vision and goals
Work towards reducing enquiry handling time by 25%, on time response to the Lathe / VTL & Turn Mill Centre inquiries, turn key projects and tenders received from Marketing in the form of feasibility study, competitive time estimation, and tooled up proposal.
Work towards achieving target AE sales and increase AE Sales revenue in target markets as projected in the Business Plan
Evaluate and research on customer demands by analysing feedback from internal as well as external sources to deliver premium customer experience
Continuously assess customer requirements and provide timely and effective solutions aligned with the clients' needs
Enhance customer satisfaction through technical support and expertise in machine tool technologies
Study the drawings, check for feasibility, arrive process and prepare time estimation and detailed proposal on time
Freeze the machine scope for the customer for their particular requirement and suggest suitable accessories for machining the component.
Turn key projects and tenders involves multiple machines and accessories. It involves preparation of competitive technical proposal.
Discuss with cutting tool suppliers and arrive tooling cost based on the process.
Concept of work holding is to be arrived in discussion with internal stake holders on time
Study the scope of supply of tooled up order in detail which is received from sales and chart out a plan to execute the AE related activities.
Freezing DAP for tooling's and work holdings with customer, and On approval, necessary changes to be incorporated after customer approval.
Preparation of bill of materials pertains to tooling's and work holdings on time.
Initiate ordering request with concerned department for procurement of tooling's and work holdings after discussion with suppliers and internal stake holders.
Participate in design reviews and contract review meetings to ensure the achievement of technical requirements of tooled up Projects.
Co-ordinate with execution team for successful completion of tooled up trials internally and at customer end on time.
Support front end sales engineers and customers in terms of Application related queries.
Co-ordinate with execution team for preparation of MOM internally and final MOM at customer end.
Initiate procurement action for tools / work holdings through oracle system by inventory addition, preparing purchase request and follow the same
On receipt of AE items at stores, In closing, receive materials and maintain these items in AE storage area
By maintaining system compliance, ensure all the items including customer materials of tooled up machines goes along with machines
Preparation of documents and maintaining for TQM activities and co-odrinates with team members
Ensure adherence to business excellence processes and procedures in all activities related to the section
Oversee the workflow and work assignments of the team to ensure effective collaboration among teams, team members and consistent, quality work
Suggest use of latest technologies and tools for Application Engineering in machine tool division to deliver premium service and products to client
Ensure up to date market knowledge new products & technologies, taking sustainable & specific efforts for introducing them in the market for long term business growth.
Suggest and use of technology to automate and enhance efficiency of the AE functions processes
Facilitate continuous learning and skilling across the section on essential functional and behavioural competencies
Mentoring and managing a team of professionals to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
Managing career aspirations and training needs of professionals within the section
Monitor Sectional performance and identify areas of strengths and opportunities for development
Monitor team metrics and objectives ensuring achievement of set targets
