We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Depot Manager to oversee the end-to-end operations of our Bangalore Depot. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in transport and logistics management, with expertise in fleet coordination, inventory management, dispatch operations, and warehouse administration. The role requires ensuring smooth depot operations, timely deliveries, optimal vehicle utilization, and effective coordination with internal teams and transport vendors.
Key Responsibilities
Depot Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring smooth inbound and outbound activities.
- Ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of products.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and minimize stock variances.
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and operational guidelines.
Transport & Logistics Management
- Plan, schedule, and monitor vehicle movements for timely deliveries.
- Coordinate with transport vendors, drivers, and fleet operators.
- Optimize transportation routes to improve delivery efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Monitor vehicle utilization, turnaround time, and dispatch schedules.
- Ensure compliance with transport regulations and documentation.
- Resolve transportation and delivery-related issues promptly.
Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Conduct regular stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of products.
- Maintain FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Factory teams for stock replenishment.
Team Management
- Supervise warehouse staff, drivers, loaders, and depot personnel.
- Allocate daily work and monitor team productivity.
- Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
- Train and mentor team members to improve operational efficiency.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on depot performance.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance teams for seamless order execution.
- Monitor key operational KPIs and implement process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
- Certification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transport Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–8 years of experience in Depot Operations, Warehouse Management, Transport, or Logistics.
- Prior experience in the Transport/Logistics industry is mandatory.
- Experience in FMCG, Dairy, Ice Cream, Food & Beverage, or Cold Chain operations will be preferred.
