Job Summary
The Fleet Operations & Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing the overall fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, deployment, drivers, garage activities, and related costs. The role will ensure maximum vehicle availability, proper maintenance, efficient utilization, and smooth fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day fleet and garage operations.
- Plan vehicle deployment, allocation, routing, and engagement as per operational requirements.
- Monitor vehicle movement, utilization, availability, and performance through GPS/tracking systems.
- Ensure timely servicing, preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and fitness of vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle breakdowns and coordinate with service centres, workshops, mechanics, and tyre vendors for timely repairs.
- Maintain records of vehicle servicing, breakdowns, repairs, tyres, batteries, spare parts, tools, diesel, DEF, and consumables.
- Manage spare parts and consumables inventory and ensure proper storage and availability.
- Supervise drivers and fleet support staff in coordination with shift in-charges.
- Monitor driver attendance, discipline, driving behaviour, safety compliance, and performance.
- Monitor fuel/diesel consumption and identify abnormal usage, leakage, or misuse.
- Control fleet-related expenses including fuel, maintenance, tyres, spare parts, and repairs.
- Coordinate with workshops, service centres, fuel stations, tyre suppliers, and other vendors.
- Prepare and maintain Vehicle Performance Reports, Driver Performance Reports, and Staff Performance Reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on vehicle availability, utilization, fuel efficiency, breakdowns, downtime, maintenance costs, and overall fleet performance.
- Ensure proper documentation, cost control, safety, and smooth coordination with operations and management.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of fleet operations and vehicle maintenance.
- Experience in managing commercial/heavy vehicles and garage operations.
- Knowledge of GPS tracking, fuel monitoring, preventive maintenance, and breakdown management.
- Good team management, vendor coordination, reporting, and MS Excel skills.
Qualification & Experience
Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering preferred.
Experience: 5–10 years in Fleet Operations, Vehicle Maintenance, Logistics, Mining, or Heavy Vehicle Operations.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
