Job Summary: From Water Treatment Industry Only
Mechanical Draughtman will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed mechanical drawings, including piping layouts, equipment arrangements, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings related to the mechanical systems of Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) , wastewater treatment plant. The draftsman will work closely with engineers, site teams, and other disciplines to ensure that all mechanical documentation is technically correct, coordinated, and aligned with project standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare mechanical drawings using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Prepare Plant layout drawings, Hydraulic flow diagram (HFD), Process flow diagram (PFD), P&IDs (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) general arrangement (GA) drawings, and piping layouts with BOQ.
- Prepare detailed isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly sketches for mechanical systems.
- Include accurate dimensions, material specifications, flow direction, elevations, and connection details with correct representation of mechanical components: pumps, blowers, tanks, valves, strainers, etc.
- Coordinate with mechanical engineers to convert design concepts into construction-ready drawings.
- Work with other disciplines (civil, electrical, instrumentation) to ensure proper service coordination.
- Update drawings based on site mark-ups, client feedback, and engineering changes.
- Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and drawing logs.
- Ensure compliance with company CAD standards and documentation protocols.
- Prepare and deliver As-Built drawings after construction completion.
Required Qualification & Education:
Ø Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Drafting Technology, CAD certification (preferred)
Ø Experience: 7–15 years of experience as a Mechanical Draftsman, preferably in water treatment, sewage treatment, or similar industrial projects.
Required Key Skills:
· Proficient in AutoCAD 2D (3D knowledge is an advantage)
· Understanding of mechanical systems in water and wastewater treatment plants.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, HFD, PFD and technical specifications
· Familiarity with fabrication and assembly standards
· Good knowledge of mechanical components: pumps, valves, tanks, blowers, piping systems, etc.
· Excellent attention to detail and drawing accuracy
· Strong communication and coordination skills
Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹800,000.00 per year
