An Engineer – Design in industrial projects supports the creation, review, and coordination of architectural, structural, and service-related design drawings. The role works closely under senior design professionals and project managers to ensure the timely delivery of design documents that align with functional, regulatory, and execution requirements.
Key Roles & Responsibilities of an Engineer – Design in Industrial Projects
1. Drawing Preparation & Support
- Assist in preparing architectural, structural, and MEP layout drawings.
- Draft detail drawings based on instructions from senior engineers and consultants.
- Ensure accuracy and clarity in the preparation of shop and construction drawings.
2. Drawing Review & Revisions
- Review drawing mark-ups from consultants or site teams and incorporate revisions.
- Ensure updated drawings are reissued and version-controlled.
- Support design documentation for approvals and construction.
3. Design Coordination Assistance
- Coordinate with internal teams for data required in design preparation.
- Follow up with consultants and vendors to receive timely inputs.
- Maintain drawing registers and tracking systems.
4. Site & Execution Interface
- Support site engineers by clarifying drawing-related queries.
- Visit sites to understand practical design challenges and update drawings accordingly.
- Assist in capturing as-built modifications and updating final records.
5. Documentation & Archiving
- Organize and maintain drawing folders and digital archives.
- Track submissions, approvals, and drawing correspondence logs.
- Assist in creating presentations, reports, and drawing transmittals.
6. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure design output complies with applicable codes and project specifications.
- Follow internal quality procedures for drawing checks.
- Assist in preparing documentation for statutory submissions.
Key Skills & Knowledge Areas
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic understanding of Revit, STAAD, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with IS codes and industrial project design norms.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
- Good attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
- Team coordination and effective communication skills.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
