About the role
We design and deliver IT solutions for government and public-sector clients. This role owns the technical architecture of those solutions across both on-premises and cloud environments, works directly with government stakeholders as the technical face of the engagement, and produces the documentation these projects depend on.
You should be equally strong in three areas: architecting across cloud and on-premise (including hybrid and isolated environments), engaging confidently with government clients, and writing clear, review-ready technical documents. It is a hands-on architect role — you produce the design and the documentation, not just oversee them.
Key responsibilitiesArchitecture — cloud and on-premise
- Across environments design end-to-end solutions across on-premises data-centre environments (including air-gapped / isolated) and cloud (public and government community / empanelled cloud), including hybrid architectures.
- Core stack own compute, storage, network, virtualisation / containers and orchestration, microservices, integration / APIs and databases.
- Resilience design high-availability and disaster recovery (RPO/RTO), performance and scalability.
- Security & compliance build in security and compliance — access control / IAM, encryption, data residency, audit, and applicable data-protection requirements — from the start.
Client engagement — government-facing
- Client-facing act as the technical authority on government engagements: run requirement and design workshops, present architecture to government stakeholders and committees, and manage technical expectations.
- translate RFP / requirement documents into designs and demonstrate how the solution meets the stated requirements and standards.
- support design reviews, security audits and acceptance with the client and their nominated agencies.
Documentation
- Own the docs author and own the technical documentation set — solution / architecture documents, high-level and low-level designs (HLD / LLD), requirement specifications, deployment, security and operations documents.
- write to the standard government projects expect: clear, structured, traceable to requirements, and review-ready for evaluators and auditors.
Delivery
- Through delivery guide and review the engineering team's work so the built solution matches the approved design; support deployment, go-live and operational handover.
Required experience & skills
- Cloud + on-prem strong, hands-on architecture across cloud (one or more major platforms) and on-premise data-centre environments, including air-gapped / isolated; comfortable with hybrid.
- Government client-facing demonstrable client-facing experience on government / PSU projects — presenting to and working directly with government stakeholders.
- Documentation a track record of authoring technical documents (solution docs, HLD / LLD, SRS) that hold up to government evaluation and audit.
- Architecture depth HA/DR, containers / orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes), integration / middleware, databases, and security-by-design.
- Govt standards familiarity with government compliance and standards (e.g., empanelled-cloud / data-localisation norms, security audit and certification processes).
Nice to have
- exposure to large citizen-facing or public-sector systems.
- relevant certifications (cloud architect, TOGAF or equivalent).
Qualifications
- B.E. / B.Tech / MCA or equivalent; relevant architecture, cloud or security certifications are a plus.
- roughly 5-8 years overall, with a meaningful share as a solution architect on government or large-enterprise projects.
