- Stability Testing: Design and execute studies to ensure the liquid remains chemically stable, physically uniform (preventing sedimentation or caking), and free from microbial growth over its shelf life.
- Method Development: Create and validate new analytical methods to test the potency and purity of liquid dosage forms.
2. Quality Control (QC) & Assurance (QA)
- Testing & Analysis: Conduct routine qualitative and quantitative tests (e.g., pH, viscosity, specific gravity, and assay) on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished syrups.
- Instrument Operation: Utilize laboratory equipment such as HPLC, UV-Vis spectrophotometers, auto-titrators, and dissolution testers.
- Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to FDA and compendia standards (e.g., USP/IP), investigate Out of Specification (OOS) results, and manage deviations.
3. Manufacturing & Production
- Batch Execution: Oversee large-scale batch manufacturing processes, ensuring accurate weighing, dissolving, and compounding of ingredients.
- Documentation: Create and maintain accurate Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR) and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Safety & Sanitation: Ensure rigorous line clearance between products, maintain shop floor hygiene, and manage equipment sterilization to prevent cross-contamination.
