Job Title: Fashion Merchandiser

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with design, production, and sourcing teams to develop styles as per market trends and customer requirements.
- Source and negotiate with fabric, trims, accessory suppliers; maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Prepare cost sheets, finalize costing, and ensure margins are met.
- Manage the development of samples: ensure timelines are met, quality standards are maintained, and customer feedback is incorporated.
- Track order status from placement to shipment; follow up on production, quality, packaging, and dispatch.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels; forecast demand to avoid over-stocking or stock-outs.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the production process.
- Liaise with logistics and export teams (if applicable) for timely delivery.
- Report regularly on key merchandiser metrics: on-time delivery, cost variances, quality issues, etc.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion, Textile, Apparel Merchandising, or related field.
- 2-5 years of experience (or more, depending on the level) in garment merchandising / sourcing / export environment.
- Good understanding of fabrics, trims, garment construction, and quality parameters.
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management experience.
- Proficient in cost analysis and preparation of cost sheets.
- Good planning and time management skills; ability to handle multiple styles/orders simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and any merchandising / ERP software is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and solution-oriented mindset.
