Role & Responsibilities:
As a senior project architect, your role will involve a higher level of responsibility, leadership, and expertise. You will be instrumental in ensuring project success, client satisfaction, and the overall growth and reputation of the architectural firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients and technical leads to understand project objectives, requirements, and constraints.
- Contribute to the development of the project scope, schedule, and budget.
- Participate in the creation of design concepts and solutions that meet client needs while considering functional, aesthetic, and technical aspects.
- Lead the design development process, translating concepts into detailed architectural designs.
- Create and review drawings, 3D models, and other design documentation using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.
- Ensure that the design aligns with building codes, regulations, and standards, as well as industry best practices.
- Manage project budgets and resources, including tracking expenses, preparing cost estimates, and managing change orders.
- Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion and make adjustments as necessary.
- Regularly report project status and financial updates to senior management and clients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, interior designers, and consultants.
- Coordinate and integrate various design elements to ensure consistency and coherence.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, both internal and external, to maintain project goals and resolve any conflicts or issues that arise.
- Oversee the construction phase of the project. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, review quality, and ensure compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Address and resolve design-related issues that may arise during construction.
- Respond to requests for information (RFIs) from contractors, provide clarifications, and make necessary modifications to the design documentation.
- Ensure the quality and integrity of the project by conducting thorough reviews and inspections. Monitor compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, issues, and deviations from the project plan.
- Implement effective risk management strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful project delivery.
- Coordinate and manage with internal project teams, including architects, designers, and drafters. Delegate tasks and responsibilities, monitor progress, and provide guidance and support.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, such as contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure smooth project execution.
Experience & Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this role are:
- A bachelor’s degree in architecture.
- At least 11 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or other similar tools is essential. Familiarity with graphic design software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus.
- Ability to create innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing designs that meet client needs.
- Excellent understanding with architectural drafting and documentation standards.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
