About the Role:
We are looking for a Head of Finance & Accounts who can independently drive the company's accounting, taxation, compliance, treasury, financial controls and management reporting.
This is a hands-on leadership role with direct interaction with the promoters and senior management. The candidate will be responsible not only for reporting numbers but also for ensuring that the underlying books, reconciliations, controls and compliance are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities:
Finance & Accounting:
- Own the complete accounting function, including general ledger, sub-ledgers, branch accounting and consolidation.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing within defined timelines.
- Ensure accuracy of books, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
- Prepare financial statements and management reports for promoters and senior management.
- Develop meaningful MIS that enables management to make faster and better business decisions.
Taxation & Statutory Compliance:
- Own end-to-end GST compliance, including returns, reconciliations and applicable reverse-charge requirements.
- Manage TDS, advance tax, income tax returns and tax audit requirements.
- Handle tax assessments, notices and departmental queries in coordination with external consultants.
- Ensure timely ROC, Companies Act and other applicable statutory compliances.
- Maintain a clear compliance calendar and ensure there are no overdue statutory obligations.
Branch Finance, Cash & Inventory Controls:
- Drive daily financial reconciliation across the company's 61 branches.
- Monitor cash collections, customer payouts, purchases and branch-level transactions.
- Ensure accurate accounting and reconciliation of gold, silver and diamond inventory across its movement from branch to vault, refiner and final realisation.
- Strengthen adherence to branch-level financial SOPs, cash limits, payout authorisations and documentation requirements.
- Conduct periodic branch audits and physical stock verification.
- Investigate financial and inventory variances and ensure timely closure.
Treasury & Working Capital:
- Manage daily cash-flow requirements across branches and corporate accounts.
- Oversee banking relationships, payment operations, and working capital requirements.
- Forecast cash requirements, particularly during peak periods and expansion.
- Monitor the working-capital impact of gold price movements between purchase and realisation.
MIS, Budgeting & Business Support:
- Prepare annual budgets and monitor actual performance against budget.
- Provide clear variance analysis and actionable insights to management.
- Develop branch-level profitability and cost reports.
- Support management decisions related to branch expansion, pricing, margins, and operational performance.
Team & Stakeholder Management:
- Lead, mentor and develop the accounts team.
- Ensure high standards of accuracy, accountability and timely closure.
- Coordinate with the Financial Controller and Internal Auditor on financial systems and controls.
- Act as the key finance interface for promoters, auditors, tax consultants, bankers and regulators.
- Collaborate with branch operations and HR teams on payroll, expenses, approvals and documentation.
Mandatory Requirements:-
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
- 4–5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience independently managing financial closing and statutory compliance.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and Companies Act compliance.
- Experience handling audits, assessments, notices and statutory requirements.
- Strong command of Tally or equivalent ERP and Advanced Excel.
- Ability to independently prepare and analyse MIS and financial reports.
- Experience managing and developing a finance/accounts team.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations, cash management and working capital.
- Ability to work directly with promoters and senior management.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Fluent in English and Hindi.
- Willingness to travel to branches across Delhi NCR when required.
Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per month
