Job Summary
The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, specialty beverages, mocktails, teas, and light refreshments while delivering exceptional guest service in the hotel's coffee shop cum restaurant outlet. The role involves maintaining beverage quality, ensuring hygiene standards, supporting restaurant operations, and contributing to sales through product knowledge and upselling.
Key Responsibilities1. Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and serve espresso-based coffees, brewed coffee, teas, hot chocolate, cold coffees, frappes, smoothies, fresh juices, and mocktails as per standard recipes.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Prepare specialty beverages and seasonal promotions.
- Assist in the preparation and plating of simple desserts and café accompaniments, where required.
2. Guest Service
- Welcome guests warmly and provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
- Take beverage and food orders accurately.
- Recommend beverages, desserts, and menu pairings to enhance the guest experience.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Build rapport with repeat guests and remember their preferences whenever possible.
3. Restaurant Support
- Coordinate with restaurant service staff and kitchen for smooth operations.
- Serve beverages to restaurant guests in a timely manner.
- Assist with buffet breakfast beverage service and special events.
- Support food service operations during peak hours when required.
4. Hygiene and Food Safety
- Maintain cleanliness of the coffee counter, beverage station, and equipment.
- Follow HACCP and food safety standards.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and perishables.
- Adhere to personal hygiene and grooming standards.
5. Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, dairy products, syrups, tea, and other consumables.
- Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
- Minimize wastage and breakage.
- Assist in stock-taking and inventory control.
6. Equipment Maintenance
- Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and beverage equipment efficiently.
- Perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance.
- Report equipment faults to the supervisor promptly.
7. Billing and Cash Handling
- Operate POS systems accurately.
- Process guest bills and payments as required.
- Maintain accountability for cash and transaction records.
8. Sales and Upselling
- Promote signature coffees, desserts, bakery items, and special menus.
- Increase average guest spending through effective upselling techniques.
- Participate in promotional activities and seasonal beverage campaigns.
Qualifications
- Higher Secondary (12th Pass) or equivalent.
- Barista or Hospitality certification preferred.
- Food Safety certification is an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience as a Barista in a premium café, restaurant, or hotel.
- Experience in a four-star or five-star hotel is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of coffee beans, roasting, and brewing techniques.
- Expertise in espresso machine operations and milk texturing.
- Basic latte art skills.
- Knowledge of teas, mocktails, fresh juices, and specialty beverages.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy restaurant environment.
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling.

- Attend departmental training and meetings.
- Assist in achieving the outlet's revenue and guest satisfaction targets.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Outlet Supervisor, Restaurant Manager, or F&B Manager.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
