Duties
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines, ensuring proper calibration and alignment for each job.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and production documents to accurately program and adjust laser equipment.
- Utilize CNC programming, CAM programming, and CAD software to create precise cutting paths and optimize machine performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and safety checks on laser equipment and related industrial machinery.
- Measure finished parts using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensional accuracy according to GD&T standards.
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and materials handling equipment; prepare raw materials for cutting processes.
- Maintain detailed records of production runs, machine settings, quality inspections, and safety compliance.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC programming, CAM programming, and CAD design software such as SolidWorks.
- Strong understanding of mechanical blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Experience with laser cutting machinery, Fanuc controls or similar CNC systems preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment troubleshooting and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with shop math, factory safety standards, dimensional measurements, and precision measurement instruments like micrometers and calipers.
- Ability to interpret manufacturing documentation accurately while adhering to quality control protocols.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques including welding, stamping presses, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC machining processes.
- Capable of operating hand tools, tooling setups, assembly line tasks, packaging procedures, and materials handling equipment such as forklifts.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with factory experience in manufacturing environments focused on quality assurance and safety standards.
