Job Summary:
The Restaurant Captain oversees the daily operations of the restaurant floor, leads the service staff, ensures high standards of hospitality, and maintains customer satisfaction by delivering prompt and professional service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of waiters and service staff.
- Welcome and assist guests, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
- Take and confirm reservations, seating arrangements, and special requests.
- Ensure food and beverages are served according to restaurant standards.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
- Train, mentor, and motivate service staff.
- Monitor staff grooming, hygiene, and adherence to company policies.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely service.
- Inspect dining areas for cleanliness and proper table setup.
- Prepare duty rosters and assign work responsibilities.
- Monitor inventory of service equipment and report shortages.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
- Assist in achieving sales targets by promoting menu items and upselling where appropriate.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or a degree/diploma in Hospitality Management is preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in food and beverage service, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good knowledge of food, beverages, and service etiquette.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle customer concerns effectively.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
