Test Bed Engineer – Diesel Engine Testing

Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled Test Bed Engineer with hands-on experience in AVL PUMA to support diesel engine testing and development activities. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in engine performance testing, emission testing, engine mapping, and operating engine test bed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct testing of various diesel engines on engine test beds.
- Perform engine performance and emission tests as per defined standards.
- Execute full throttle and part throttle engine mapping activities.
- Carry out durability and oil consumption tests.
- Prepare test beds for execution by ensuring equipment readiness, parameterization, and calibration.
- Operate engine test bed systems and monitor test execution.
- Record and maintain accurate test data and documentation.
- Prepare routine test reports and test summaries.
- Support maintenance and periodic calibration of test equipment.
- Report test deviations and abnormalities to the Development Engineer or Team Leader.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in diesel engine testing.
- Hands-on experience with AVL PUMA (Mandatory).
- Experience operating engine test beds and dynamometers.
- Strong understanding of emission and performance testing procedures.
- Experience in data acquisition, test execution, and result validation.
- Familiarity with engine mapping and durability testing.
Knowledge of Test Equipment
Candidates should have working knowledge of:
- Dynamometer
- Fuel Balance Systems
- Smoke Meter
- Emission Analyzers
- Smart Sampler
- AVL PUMA Test Bed Systems
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of emission standards and testing norms.
- Basic understanding of equipment calibration procedures.
- Good analytical and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for test data reporting.
