Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
· Manage end-to-end fleet operations ensuring timely vehicle placement and smooth execution of dispatch plans
· Handle daily operational issues such as delays, breakdowns, rerouting, and escalations
· Improve fleet utilization, route planning, turnaround time, and overall operational efficiency
· Monitor key metrics like TAT, fuel usage, mileage, load utilization, and trip performance
· Control operational costs including fuel, maintenance, and vendor expenses
· Oversee preventive maintenance and ensure minimal vehicle downtime
· Track vehicle movement using GPS and ensure route discipline and compliance
· Manage drivers including allocation, discipline, and grievance handling
· Coordinate yard operations including loading/unloading and shift management
· Ensure all vehicle documents and compliance requirements are up to date and audit-ready
· Manage vendors and ensure continuous vehicle availability for operations
· Implement simple SOPs and support process improvements for better efficiency
Skills & Competencies Require
- Strong operational control and decision-making ability
- Practical understanding of trucking/tanker fleet operations
- Excellent coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to handle pressure and real-time problem solving
- Strong command over route planning, fleet utilization, and cost control
· People management skills with a focus on driver engagement
