Project Manager – MEP Projects
Job Summary
The Project Manager – MEP Projects is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully delivering Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects within the approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines. The role involves coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal teams while ensuring compliance with safety, statutory and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
- Plan, organize, and manage MEP projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop project schedules, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to meet project milestones.
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials, equipment, and manpower.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, civil contractors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and provide status updates.
- Resolve technical and commercial issues affecting project execution.
- Ensure seamless coordination between mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
Cost & Budget Management
- Prepare and monitor project budgets.
- Track project costs and control expenditures.
- Review subcontractor bills, purchase orders, and vendor payments.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality.
Quality Management
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and quality procedures.
- Conduct inspections and monitor installation quality.
- Coordinate testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company HSE policies and local regulations.
- Promote a safe working environment across project sites.
- Ensure compliance with statutory approvals and contractual obligations.
Team Leadership
- Lead and motivate project engineers, site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Mentor team members and support professional development.
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and consultants.
- Address client concerns promptly and professionally.
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Maintain project documentation, drawings, RFIs, change orders, and site records.
- Ensure proper project close-out documentation and final handover.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma (EEE) / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) is preferred.
- Additional certifications in MEP, HVAC, or Construction Management are an advantage.
Experience
- 8–15 years of experience in MEP project execution.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a Project Manager role.
- Experience managing commercial, residential, industrial, hospital, data center, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
