Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Area Sales Manager (ASM) with proven experience in the FMCG industry to drive sales, expand market presence, and manage distributor networks across the assigned territory. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, excellent market knowledge, and the ability to achieve sales targets while building long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive primary and secondary sales in the assigned territory.
- Appoint, develop, and manage distributors and retailers.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage.
- Monitor distributor performance, stock levels, and market inventory.
- Ensure effective implementation of sales and marketing initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key customers.
- Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to achieve business objectives.
- Conduct regular market visits to monitor competitor activities, pricing, and product availability.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
- Ensure timely collections and maintain healthy outstanding levels.
- Execute promotional activities and product launches in the assigned region.
- Maintain discipline in sales operations and ensure adherence to company policies.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (MBA in Marketing will be an added advantage).
- Minimum 4–8 years of experience as an Area Sales Manager or equivalent role in the FMCG industry.
- Strong experience in distributor management and channel sales.
- Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets.
- Good understanding of South Indian FMCG markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
Mandatory Requirements
- Experience in the FMCG industry is mandatory.
Salary
