Energy Manager – Electricity Procurement & Cost Optimisation

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Energy Manager to lead electricity procurement, renewable energy sourcing, and power cost optimisation initiatives across our manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering substantial annual savings through Open Access Solar PPAs, Group Captive Power arrangements, tariff optimisation, and electricity bill management.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end execution of Open Access Solar PPA projects across Gujarat and Tamil Nadu.
- Evaluate and implement Group Captive Power Plant structures.
- Negotiate PPAs, tariffs, commercial terms, and contracts with renewable energy developers.
- Coordinate with DISCOMs, SLDCs, and regulatory authorities for approvals and compliance.
- Verify electricity bills, identify billing discrepancies, and recover overcharges.
- Optimise electricity tariffs, demand charges, power factor incentives, and time-of-day consumption.
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on energy costs.
- Evaluate rooftop solar, EPC, and renewable energy investment opportunities.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, savings analysis, and energy cost forecasts for management.
- Manage energy-related documentation, contracts, and compliance requirements.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Open Access Solar PPA execution.
- Hands-on experience with GERC (Gujarat) and/or TNERC (Tamil Nadu) open access processes.
- Strong knowledge of HT electricity billing, tariff structures, CSS, wheeling charges, banking adjustments, and power factor management.
- Proven experience negotiating PPA contracts with developers.
- Working knowledge of Group Captive Power structures and Electricity Act regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with renewable energy developers or energy-intensive manufacturing industries.
- Knowledge of solar EPC projects, accelerated depreciation, GST benefits, and energy regulations.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and energy MIS reporting.
- Gujarati and/or Tamil language proficiency will be an added advantage.
Pay: ₹1,500,000.00 - ₹2,500,000.00 per year
