Job Summary
We are looking for an active, smart, and technically sound Purchase Executive with a core background in the electrical industry to join our procurement team. In this role, your primary objective will be to source and buy high-quality raw materials required for manufacturing electrical panels (such as switchgears, copper busbars, enclosures, wires, and meters) at the most competitive market prices without compromising on technical standards or quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Source Electrical Components: Identify and manage reliable suppliers and distributors for specialized electrical items including premium switchgears (ABB, Siemens, Schneider), copper, sheet metal, and related components.
- Negotiate & Optimize Costs: Interface directly with authorized industrial distributors and original manufacturers to secure the highest discounts, optimized price structures, and ideal credit terms.
- Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing electrical component vendors while continuously onboarding new certified suppliers to ensure backup options and competitive pricing.
- Monitor Stock & Availability: Coordinate closely with the factory production and store teams to monitor current inventory levels, ensuring critical electrical components are always available before production cycles begin.
- Track Market Dynamics: Monitor and analyze fluctuating market prices of core raw metals (especially copper and steel) to strategically execute purchasing timelines and maximize cost savings.
- Execute Purchase Orders (PO): Accurately prepare and dispatch technical Purchase Orders based on detailed production layouts and engineering bills of materials (BOM).
- Track Material Delivery: Conduct daily follow-ups with vendors to ensure all components arrive at our manufacturing facility on time, preventing any bottlenecks or production downtime.
- Verify Technical Quality: Inspect incoming consignments against the dispatched PO to strictly verify specific technical ratings, quantities, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate Invoices & Payments: Systematically maintain proper records of procurement invoices and coordinate closely with the internal accounts team to facilitate timely vendor payouts.
Candidate Requirements (Must Have)
- Industry Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of dedicated procurement/purchase experience strictly within the Electrical Panel Manufacturing, Switchgear distribution, or Electrical Automation sectors.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with electrical panel components, brands (Schneider, Siemens, ABB, L&T), and raw materials like copper busbars and sheet metal.
- Education: Diploma/B.Tech in Electrical Engineering OR a graduate degree with extensive, proven commercial purchase experience handling electrical products.
- Skills: Strong negotiation skills, excellent vendor-relationship management, and proficiency in tracking raw material commodity market pricing.
