We are looking for a skilled and energetic Cook to manage the Chinese/Indo-Chinese section of our café kitchen. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality, consistent dishes from scratch, maintaining quick ticket times, and managing your station’s daily preparation. If you have a passion for wok cooking, a strong eye for flavor consistency, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation & Cooking
- Expertly operate the wok station to prepare a variety of Chinese and Indo-Chinese dishes (e.g., noodles, fried rice, stir-fries, gravies, and appetizers like spring rolls or dim sums) according to the cafe's specific recipes.
- Ensure all food is prepared, portioned, and presented according to established quality and presentation standards.
- Manage ticket times efficiently, ensuring dishes are cooked and ready simultaneously with other sections during busy peak hours.
2. Station Management & Mise en Place
- Handle daily morning prep: chopping vegetables, slicing proteins, prepping sauces, and stocking the section before service begins.
- Monitor stock levels for the Chinese section and coordinate with the Head Chef to raise daily/weekly indent (purchase requisitions) for fresh ingredients and dry goods.
- Properly store and rotate ingredients using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method to minimize food waste.
3. Hygiene, Food Safety & Maintenance
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness at the wok station, surrounding counters, and storage areas in compliance with food safety and local municipal guidelines.
- Clean, maintain, and properly handle kitchen equipment (woks, burners, exhaust hoods, and knives).
- Ensure proper temperature control for stored raw and cooked ingredients.
Pay: ₹24,000.00 - ₹26,000.00 per month
