Job Overview
The role of the BIM Manager is to understand and communicate how Building Information Modelling (BIM) will impact project workflows, deliverables, and project management overall projects.
The primary responsibility is to oversee, coordinate and improve the development, implementation, and enforcement of BIM standards on all related BIM projects, files, and models. This includes creating a work plan/roadmap for the development, implementation, and quality assurance checks required to fully integrate BIM. The BIM Manager will also coordinate and facilitate communication between all project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- High skills in CAD & BIM Management
- Experience in BIM Process
- Understanding the EIR to prepare the stage wise BEP
- Develop, establish, and enforce BIM standards and guidelines across the organization to ensure consistency and efficiency in BIM workflows and practices.
- Model coordination skills in Architecture, Structure, MEP and Special Services.
- Ensure that the organization complies with industry and regulatory standards related to BIM, as well as internal quality control requirements.
- Knowledge of client requirements and ISO 19650 processes.
- Chair the firm’s BIM user group and ensure regular communication and coordination among BIM/Revit users.
- Expertise in CDE, including Autodesk Forma.
- Ability to train, team and stakeholder for the effective collaboration
- Experience in BIM Auditing and develop QA/AC protocols based on the project
- Establishment and running Clash detection protocols with Navisworks Manage
- High modelling skills and services Coordination skills
- Knowledge in 4D/5D Implementation.
- Knowledge on the automation tools like Dynamo and other relevant BIM software plugins.
- Automate BIM routines to support standards and productivity.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work based on milestone submissions.
- Responsible for weekly progress and monthly report on the company’s current and projected state regarding BIM implementation.
- Assessment of BIM proficiency for existing staff.
- Provide training and support to team members in the use of BIM software and tools in groups or one to one. Develop and coordinate training strategies.
- Revit test for job applicants.
- BIM Induction of new staff.
- Responsible for development, implementation and enforcement of BIM standards and templates.
- Oversee the selection, installation, and maintenance of BIM software tools and technologies, staying up to date with the latest developments in the field.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to BIM, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
- Liaise with the BIM Leads/team to ensure documentation is kept up to date, relevant to the following:
- BIM Manual
- BIM QA/QC
- Supporting Documents
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in AEC industry.
- Minimum 5 years of below software applications:
- Autodesk AutoCAD
- Autodesk Revit
- Navisworks
- Autodesk Forma (Previously ACC)
- Knowledge on Automation tools and other plugins for BIM Management is preferred
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Power Point)
