We are looking for an experienced Video Editor to work on finance-focused content for a creator. The content will primarily include Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, talking-head videos, and finance explainer videos.
We are looking for someone who can take raw footage and turn it into high-retention, engaging, professional-looking videos that are optimized for social media.
What You'll Be Editing

- Occasional longer-form explainer content
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw talking-head footage into engaging short-form videos
- Create strong hooks and maintain audience retention through pacing
- Add dynamic captions/subtitles
- Use relevant B-roll, stock footage, screenshots, charts, images, and visual references
- Add motion graphics, text animations, transitions, zooms, and other effects where appropriate
- Highlight important financial concepts using on-screen graphics and animations
- Clean up audio, remove pauses/filler words, and improve overall sound quality
- Maintain a consistent visual style across all videos
- Deliver videos in formats optimized for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other platforms
- Take feedback positively and make revisions quickly
Requirements
Only experienced candidates should apply.
You should have:
- Proven experience editing short-form creator content
- Strong understanding of talking-head and educational/explainer video editing
- Experience creating high-retention Reels/Shorts
- Good understanding of pacing, storytelling, hooks, and audience retention
- Strong skills in captions, motion graphics, B-roll, and visual effects
- Good sense of typography, composition, and visual hierarchy
- Ability to make finance/business content visually interesting without making it feel overly flashy
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Ability to work independently and follow an established editing style
Preferred
Experience editing finance, investing, stock market, business, or economics content is a strong plus.
Familiarity with tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, or similar professional editing software is preferred.
What We’re Looking For
We want an editor who understands that good editing is more than just cutting clips together.
You should be able to understand the creator's message, identify the most engaging moments, and use editing to make complex financial topics simple, engaging, and easy to consume.
We're looking for someone who can bring their own editing expertise while also following our creative direction and maintaining consistency.
