Note: It is Cold Storage Warehouse not Production Line
Job Summary
The Cold Store Warehouse Executive is responsible for the day-to-day operation and supervision of the finished goods cold storage facility. The role will ensure proper receipt, storage, inventory control, temperature monitoring, material handling, and dispatch of finished products while maintaining food safety, hygiene, safety, and warehouse standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cold Store Operations
- Manage day-to-day receiving, storage, movement, and dispatch of finished products.
- Ensure products are stored in the correct temperature-controlled conditions.
- Monitor cold store capacity and ensure optimum utilization of available space.
- Ensure proper stacking of products as per defined storage procedures.
- Maintain proper product identification, batch-wise storage, and traceability.
2. Temperature Monitoring
- Regularly monitor and record cold store temperature and humidity, wherever applicable.
- Ensure temperature remains within the specified range for the stored products.
- Immediately report temperature deviations to the Cold Store Manager and Maintenance team.
- Coordinate with the refrigeration team during temperature or equipment-related issues.
- Maintain temperature records for audit and product traceability purposes.
3. Finished Goods Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate finished goods stock records.
- Follow FIFO / FEFO principles as applicable.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Monitor batch numbers, manufacturing dates, expiry dates, and quantities.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies.
4. Loading & Unloading
- Supervise loading and unloading of finished products.
- Ensure products are handled carefully to prevent damage or quality deterioration.
- Ensure vehicles are suitable and clean before loading.
- Verify quantity, batch details, and dispatch documents before vehicle loading.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Dispatch teams for timely vehicle movement.
5. Material Handling Equipment
- Ensure safe operation of forklifts, pallet trucks, hand trolleys, and other material-handling equipment.
- Coordinate with authorized forklift operators for product movement.
- Ensure pallets and racks are used safely and correctly.
- Report any damaged racks, pallets, equipment, or unsafe conditions.
6. Documentation & Records
- Maintain daily inward and outward stock records.
- Maintain cold store temperature logs.
- Prepare daily stock and dispatch reports.
- Maintain batch-wise inventory records.
- Maintain vehicle loading/unloading records.
- Maintain records required for internal and external audits.
7. Food Safety & Hygiene
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GHP, HACCP, FSSAI, BRCGS, ISO 22000, and company requirements.
- Maintain proper hygiene and cleanliness inside the cold store.
- Ensure products are protected from contamination and damage.
- Follow proper pest-control and sanitation requirements.
- Ensure rejected, damaged, returned, and hold materials are properly identified and segregated.
8. Housekeeping & 5S
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the cold store and surrounding warehouse areas.
- Follow 5S principles.
- Ensure aisles, emergency exits, racks, and loading areas remain clear.
- Ensure proper disposal and segregation of waste.
- Report leakage, condensation, ice formation, or other facility issues.
9. Safety
- Follow all warehouse and cold-storage safety procedures.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is used by employees and visitors.
- Monitor safe working practices during loading, unloading, and material movement.
- Report accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure emergency exits and safety equipment remain accessible.
10. Team Coordination
- Supervise warehouse helpers, loaders, and other assigned personnel.
- Allocate manpower according to daily warehouse requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, QA, Maintenance, Logistics, and Dispatch departments.
- Conduct shift handovers and communicate pending activities.
11. Equipment & Facility Coordination
- Monitor the condition of refrigeration systems, cold-room doors, lighting, racks, pallets, and other warehouse equipment.
- Report breakdowns and maintenance requirements immediately.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance/Refrigeration team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure cold-store doors are properly closed to minimize temperature loss.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of cold storage and warehouse operations.
- Basic knowledge of refrigeration and temperature-controlled storage.
- Knowledge of inventory management and stock reconciliation.
- Understanding of FIFO/FEFO systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and warehouse documentation.
- Ability to operate or supervise material-handling equipment.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work in a temperature-controlled/cold environment.
Educational Qualification
- ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Warehouse/Logistics, or relevant technical qualification.
- Candidates with other relevant qualifications and strong cold-store experience may also be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
- Cold Store Operations
- Warehouse Operations
- Finished Goods Storage
- Cold Chain Operations
- Food Manufacturing / FMCG Warehouse
- Experience in food manufacturing or finished food products cold storage will be preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in managing finished goods inventory.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems.
- Knowledge of cold-chain requirements.
- Experience handling frozen/chilled/temperature-sensitive food products.
- Exposure to food safety and customer audits.
- Experience with forklift and material-handling operations will be an advantage.

Working Conditions
- Cold-store based position.
- Candidate should be comfortable working in a cold/temperature-controlled environment.
- Shift duty may be required based on plant and dispatch operations.
- Candidate may be required to work on weekends/holidays as per business requirements.
- Regular coordination with Production, QA, Maintenance, Logistics, and Dispatch teams is required.
