Duration: 1 year (extendable up to 3 years based on performance)

Role Summary: The candidate will be working on an ANRF-funded project on understanding the systemic regulation of response to prolonged heat stress using the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans as the genetic model organism. The candidate will acquire research experience and skills in genetics, molecular biology, recombinant DNA technology and microbiology techniques along with fundamental bioinformatics, data analysis, research writing and communication.
Responsibilities
- Lab organisation and maintenance
- Culturing of Caenorhabditis elegans
- Making routinely used lab reagents and buffers
- Assist PhD students in experimental work and data collection
- Supervise and train undergraduates and interns in basic lab techniques
- Prepare progress reports, manuscripts, and presentation material
Qualifications
- First class (60% or higher) master’s degree in any branch of life sciences with at least one subject out of genetics/molecular biology/microbiology/recombinant DNA technology studied at UG or PG level.
- Previous lab experience is desirable but not essential.
