Key Responsibilities – Plumbing Design
- Design plumbing and public health systems for industrial, commercial, and office projects
- Prepare water demand calculations and sizing of plumbing systems
- Design and sizing of:
o Water supply systems (Domestic, Process, RO, DM)
o Drainage & sewage systems
o Rainwater harvesting & storm water drainage
o Pump selection & sizing
o Plumbing fixtures & piping networks
- Preparation of plumbing drawings:
o Water supply & drainage layouts
o Riser diagrams
o Pump room & sump tank layouts
- Coordination with architectural, structural, HVAC, electrical, firefighting & STP/ZLD teams
- Ensure compliance with NBC, CPHEEO guidelines, IS codes, and local authority norms
- Provide design support and clarifications during execution
Key Responsibilities – Tendering & Estimation
- Preparation of plumbing BOQ, cost estimates, and tender documents
- Floating enquiries to vendors and subcontractors
- Techno-commercial comparison of vendor quotations
- Rate analysis for:
o Pipes (GI, CPVC, UPVC, HDPE, SWR)
o Pumps, valves, fixtures & accessories
o Underground & overhead plumbing works
- Define scope, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions clearly in tenders
- Prepare technical submissions, deviations, and pre-bid clarifications
- Support management during client discussions and tender negotiations
Skills & Technical Requirements
- Strong knowledge of plumbing design & estimation
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory)
- Good command over Excel for calculations & BOQs
- Familiarity with local plumbing practices and authority approvals
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and fast-track projects
- Good coordination and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BE / BTech / Diploma in Mechanical / Plumbing Engineering
- Experience in factories, warehouses, commercial buildings, IT parks
- Knowledge of firefighting, STP, ETP, or ZLD systems is an added advantage
