Responsibilities & Key Deliverables
Lead and transform outbound logistics operations by driving cost efficiency, service excellence, digital enablement, and network optimization aligned to the overall business plan.
Strategic Planning & Cost Leadership
- Own outbound budgeting and capacity planning in line with the annual business plan.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through network redesign, modal mix optimization (including rail dispatch), and resource efficiency.
- Lead liquidation of aged and total‑loss vehicles to minimize financial exposure.
Service Excellence & Partner Governance
- Establish, monitor, and continuously improve SLAs with 3PL and secondary transport partners, ensuring consistent service levels and timely corrective actions.
- Oversee appointment and governance of RSOs (21) and C&F agents, ensuring SLA adherence, internal guideline compliance, and statutory requirements.
- Manage secondary transportation through structured partner reviews and performance management.
Digital Transformation & Process Excellence
- Lead digital adoption across outbound operations, including:
1. Yard Management Systems to improve yard efficiency and productivity
2. End‑to‑end transit visibility
3. IT enablement of claims management portals
- Drive process standardization and system-led controls to improve visibility, reliability, and decision‑making.
Network Optimization & Capacity Enhancement
- Identify and capitalize on business opportunities to create multiplier effects, including carrier capacity enhancement and evaluation of alternate transport solutions (e.g., flatbeds, chassis carriers).
- Continuously assess industry trends and domain insights to strengthen outbound network resilience.
Customer & Dealer Experience
- Enhance dealer satisfaction by proactively understanding stated and unstated needs and delivering superior service outcomes.
- Act as a key stakeholder interface to resolve systemic issues impacting dealer experience
People Leadership & Culture
- Inspire teams through role‑modeling cost leadership and operational discipline.
- Drive best practices in resource utilization and productivity initiatives (e.g., energy cost optimization, pre‑OB driver management).
