Job Title: School Librarian (CBSE Curriculum)
Location: Gateway Group of Schools, Neelankarai Campus
Experience Required: 1-2 years of CBSE teaching experience

Purpose of the Role
To manage the school library effectively while promoting reading habits, research skills, and information literacy among students and staff in line with CBSE educational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Library Management
- Organize, catalogue, and maintain books, journals, newspapers, and digital resources
- Maintain proper records of issue/return of books
- Ensure a clean, quiet, and student-friendly learning environment
Academic Support
- Assist students in selecting age-appropriate and curriculum-related books
- Support teachers with reference materials and project resources
- Guide students in research and information finding skills
Reading Promotion (CBSE Focus Area)
- Conduct reading programs, book clubs, and library periods
- Organize book fairs, reading challenges, and storytelling sessions
- Encourage habit of daily reading across grades
Digital Literacy
- Manage e-books, online resources, and educational databases
- Teach students responsible use of information and technology
- Support project-based learning with digital references
Administrative Duties
- Prepare library budget and stock reports
- Track damaged/lost books
- Update inventory regularly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib)
- Experience in school library preferred (CBSE)
- Basic computer skills and digital resource handling
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
