We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Operations Manager – Production to oversee and drive day-to-day manufacturing operations. The role will be responsible for achieving production targets, ensuring quality and timely delivery, optimizing manpower and resources, controlling operational costs, and driving continuous improvement across production processes.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in jewellery manufacturing or manufacturing/operations management in any other industry with proven expertise in production planning, process management, productivity improvement, team leadership, quality, cost control, and operational excellence.
Production & Operations Management
· Manage and monitor day-to-day production operations to achieve planned production targets.
· Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and other resources.
· Monitor production schedules, output, productivity, and operational efficiency.
· Identify production bottlenecks and implement timely corrective actions.
· Ensure smooth coordination between different production departments and shifts.
· Maintain effective production flow and minimize downtime, delays, and operational losses.
Production Planning & Execution
· Coordinate with Production Planning to ensure timely execution of production schedules.
· Monitor work-in-progress and ensure jobs/orders move efficiently through the production process.
· Prioritize production activities based on business requirements and delivery commitments.
· Ensure production resources are available as per planned requirements.
Quality Management
· Ensure products are manufactured according to defined quality standards and specifications.
· Work closely with the Quality team to reduce rejection, rework, defects, and customer complaints.
· Identify root causes of recurring quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Productivity & Cost Control
· Monitor production efficiency and identify opportunities for productivity improvement.
· Reduce wastage, rework, rejection, downtime, and unnecessary operating costs.
· Improve manpower productivity and machine utilization.
· Develop and monitor process-wise productivity and efficiency metrics.
Team Management
· Lead and manage production supervisors, operators, technicians, and other production personnel.
· Allocate manpower effectively according to production requirements.
· Monitor individual and team performance as per their JD and KPI.
· Identify training and development requirements.
· Build a disciplined, accountable, and performance-oriented production team.
Reporting & Performance Monitoring
· Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
· Monitor key operational KPIs and initiate corrective actions where required.
· Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Jewellery Manufacturing – Preferred Exposure
For candidates with jewellery manufacturing experience, exposure to processes such as CAD/CAM, casting, wax, filing, assembly, soldering, diamond/gemstone setting, polishing, finishing, plating, gold/precious-metal handling, yield, and wastage control will be an advantage.
Candidates without jewellery industry experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong manufacturing operations experience, leadership capabilities, process discipline, productivity improvement, and the ability to quickly understand and adapt to jewellery manufacturing processes.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–15 Experience in jewellery manufacturing is preferred but not mandatory.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
