Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS DynamoDB Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable NoSQL database solutions. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing cloud-native, serverless architectures that deliver consistent, single-digit millisecond latency at any scale. You will work closely with software and infrastructure teams to define access patterns, tune performance, and ensure our database operations are highly available and secure.
Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Architecture : Design highly scalable NoSQL data models and define optimal access patterns specific to Amazon DynamoDB.
Performance Optimization : Monitor and tune database performance, read/write capacities, and query execution times using AWS CloudWatch and internal metrics.
Serverless Operations: Implement and maintain serverless data tables directly via the DynamoDB API and SDKs.
Backup & Security : Establish and enforce robust backup/recovery strategies, point-in-time recovery (PITR), and AWS IAM security/encryption policies.
Migration & Integration: Assist with database migrations from legacy relational (RDBMS) systems to DynamoDB, utilizing tools like AWS Database Migration Service .
Monitoring: Proactively track system health to ensure maximum uptime and minimal downtime for critical applications
Skill Requirements
Technical Essentials -
Experience: Hands-on professional experience with cloud databases, specifically focusing on Amazon DynamoDB and NoSQL modeling.
AWS Ecosystem: Deep familiarity with AWS services such as AWS Lambda , API Gateway, S3, and CloudFormation.
Programming Languages: Proficiency in back-end development languages including Node.js, TypeScript, or Python.
Concepts: Solid understanding of distributed systems, CAP theorem, and OLTP (Online Transaction Processing) workloads.
